Always compare to the league above.


It's very easy to compare yourself to people on your level, or even the level below, in whatever area of life it may be.


What follows is comfort and complacency.


When you are at the top of a league it feels great, giving you a false sense of fulfillment as it's a matter of perspective.


A person at the top of a given league is at the bottom of the league above...


...and the person who compares to the league above continues to grow, whilst those that find comfort at the top remain stagnant.
